ATUS (Association of Thailand Underwater Sports) is the sole official representative of CMAS in Thailand and all CMAS instructors, registered with foreign associations or federations affiliated with CMAS worldwide, must first be registered as active teaching instructors with ATUS (CMAS Thailand) before teaching CMAS freediver, CMAS diver or CMAS instructor training courses in Thailand.
All ATUS (CMAS Thailand) Instructors must register with ATUS Thailand, all their students and all levels of CMAS courses taught in Thailand such as for CMAS freedivers, CMAS divers and CMAS instructors for what ATUS (CMAS Thailand) will issue their ATUS/CMAS certification cards valid around the world.

CMAS 1-Star DIVER - 4 DIVES

CMAS One Star Diver - This CMAS training program aims at introducing the fundamentals of SCUBA diving to new entrants to the sport of recreational SCUBA diving, which will enable the candidate to undertake no decompression stop dives, while using air as a breathing gas, to a maximum depth of twenty (20) meters in a safe manner.
The CMAS One-Star Diver Training is classified as an entry-level sport diver training programme.

CMAS 2-Star DIVER - 12 DIVES

CMAS Two Star Diver - This CMAS course is a continuing education, certification course for certified divers. This CMAS training program aims to build on the skills learned during the CMAS One-Star Diver fundamentals of SCUBA diving course and advance recreational diving skills with a recommended maximum depth of 30 meters in a safe and competent manner.
The CMAS Two-Stars Diver Training Program is classified as a second-level sport diver training program.

CMAS 3-Star DIVER - 12 DIVES

CMAS Three Star Diver - This CMAS training program aims at introducing the fundamentals of CMAS dive leadership to experienced certified CMAS two Star Divers, which will enable them to plan, organize and conduct their dives with the same level diver to a maximum recommended depth deep of 40 meters and lead (Dive Leader) other sport divers in open water according to the competencies of their levels, in a safe and competent manner.
The CMAS Three-Star Diver Training Program is classified as an entry-level leadership diver training program.

CMAS 4-Star DIVER

CMAS Four Star Diver - A CMAS Three Star Diver who has attained a higher than average level of knowledge and ability supported by broad experience. He will be competent to use divers and diving to achieve major tasks or project
objectives.
It is not considered that this level will be reached following a CMAS course of fixed content, but rather as the result of experience acquired over an extended period and incorporating a broad range of conditions and requirements.
The CMAS diver must be able to prove his capabilities in organising diving expeditions and other diving activities with a particular stress on safety and emergency procedures, and by proving his competence in a given specialised area or in a scientific discipline.
The assessment will be made at a national level by a panel composed of 3 Star Instructors and confirmed by the responsible National Technical Committee.

CMAS 1-Star INSTRUCTOR

CMAS One Star Instructor - This CMAS training program aims at introducing experienced CMAS Dive Leaders to the basic concepts, principles and instructional techniques for CMAS diver education and training, which will enable them to present certain prescribed CMAS Diver Training Programs in a safe and competent manner.

PREREQUISITES FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE CMAS 1-STAR INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PROGRAM
• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age; there is no upper age limit.
• Shall undergo a diving medical examination by a registered medical practitioner and cleared as suitable for participation in the sport of recreational SCUBA diving in accordance with procedures laid down by the CMAS Federation prior to participating in any in-water activities; and
• Sign the appropriate form(s) as required by the CMAS Federation acknowledging and assuming the risks of SCUBA diving prior to participating in any in-water activities.

CMAS 1-STAR INSTRUCTOR - EXPERIENCE - KNOWLEDGE - CERTIFICATION
Hold the following CMAS Diver Training certifications:

• Hold a CMAS Three-Star Diver since minimum one year.
• CMAS BLS and CPR certification

• CMAS Oxygen Administration Training Program or equivalent (Were not prohibited by legislation); and
• Submit proof of at least one hundred (100) logged open water dives that shall include night dives, limited visibility dives, deeper dives (Between forty (40) to fifty-six (56) meters), drift dives, dives in colder water and navigation dives.

CMAS 1-STAR INSTRUCTOR - INSTRUCTOR AND ASSISTANT REQUIREMENTS
• The CMAS One-Star Instructor Training Program may be conducted by a minimum of a CMAS Three-Star Instructor in active status that complies with the requirements of CMAS national federation.
• The CMAS Three-Star Instructor may be assisted by a CMAS Two-Star Instructor in active status.

CMAS 2-Star INSTRUCTOR

CMAS Two Star Instructor - This CMAS training program aims at refreshing the knowledge of experienced CMAS One-Star Instructors with regards to the basic concepts, principles and instructional techniques, CMAS diver education and training, introducing them to the instructional techniques involved in teaching advanced, specialties, rescue and entry-level leadership CMAS Diver Training Programs, which will enable them to present these CMAS Diver Training Programs in a safe and competent manner.
The CMAS Two-Star Instructor is considered competent to conduct all CMAS basic Diver training programs i.e. CMAS Diver One-Star, CMAS Diver Two-Star and CMAS Diver Three-Star levels and assist in CMAS Instructor courses.

• Hold CMAS One Star Instructor for at least one year.
• CMAS Two-Star Instructor candidate shall have gained teaching experience by taking the role of a CMAS instructor in a minimum of 25 training sessions (In the classroom and in confined and open water) which exposed them to a comprehensive range of duties and problems.
• Submit proof that he has assisted a CMAS Three-Star Instructor on at least one (1) CMAS One Star Instructor Training Programs.
• Conducting, staffing and evaluating experience gained at CMAS Instructor level courses before becoming a CMAS Two-Star Instructor is acceptable.

CMAS 2-STAR INSTRUCTOR - INSTRUCTOR AND ASSISTANT REQUIREMENTS
The CMAS Two-Star Instructor Training Program may be conducted by a minimum of a CMAS Three-Star Instructor in active status that complies with the requirements of CMAS national federations.
• The CMAS Three-Star Instructor may be assisted by a CMAS Two-Star Instructor in active status.

CMAS 3-Star INSTRUCTOR

CMAS Three Stars Instructor - This CMAS training program aims at familiarizing experienced CMAS Two-Star Instructors with the basic concepts, principles and instructional techniques used in training CMAS Sport Diver Instructors, which will enable them to present the CMAS One-Star Instructor and Two-Star Instructor Training Programs safely and competently.
The CMAS Three-Star Instructor Training Program is classified as the most advanced level of leadership in CMAS instructor training programs within the CMAS framework.
A CMAS Three-Star Instructor is competent to take responsibility for conducting Diving Schools and for training and evaluating all CMAS divers and instructors’ levels.

CMAS 3-STAR INSTRUCTOR - EXPERIENCE - KNOWLEDGE - CERTIFICATION
Hold the following CMAS Diver Training certifications:

• CMAS Two Star Instructor certificate for at least two (2) years.
• CMAS Three-Star scuba instructor candidates shall have gained teaching experience by taking the role of an CMAS instructor in a minimum of 50 CMAS training sessions (in the classroom and in confined and open water) which exposed them to a comprehensive range of duties situations and problems.
• Submit proof that he has assisted a CMAS Three-Star Instructor on at least two (2) CMAS One-Star Instructor or Two-Star Instructor Training Programs.
• Submit proof that he has logged at least five hundred (500) open water dives.
• Submit proof that he has acquired theoretical and diving experience in accordance with the national federation requirement standard.

CMAS 3-STAR INSTRUCTOR - INSTRUCTOR AND ASSISTANT REQUIREMENTS
The CMAS Three-Star Instructor Training Program falls under the responsibility of a Three-Star staff instructor designated by the CMAS technical committee of the national federation ATUS (CMAS Thailand).

DIVE TRAINING COURSE FROM BEGINNER UP TO CMAS 3 STAR DIVER
Available for Thai nationals and foreigners

The trainee will have 3 full months of training from the CMAS diver up to the level of the 3 Star CMAS Diver.
During the diving course, the trainee must participate, learn and be evaluated on all the techniques of the CMAS diver and he must be able to help a CMAS instructor with daily tasks for the proper functioning of a diving center and a diving boat in the reception of divers, preparation of diving equipment for divers in training and supervision in a swimming pool or in a natural environment.

- Per student-trainee: Total free except digital teaching material and certification fees at ATUS and CMAS
NOTE:
The trainee diver may be able to have an official letter from ATUS (CMAS Thailand) to present to the Thai Consulate in order to obtain an Education Visa (ED Visa) for 3 months (90 days). Students on Education Visas must study 15 hours each week, or 200 hours throughout the length of the 90-day term. An Education Visa is generally valid for 90 days, which means if you wish to extend your education visa to 6 months or a year, you are still required to visit immigration every 90 days (1 visit for 6 month visa and 3 visits for 1 year visa).

1-STAR CMAS INSTRUCTOR DIVING TRAINING COURSE
Available for Thai nationals and foreigners

The trainee will have 3 full months of training as a CMAS 3-Star Diver or equivalent up to the level of the CMAS 1 Star Instructor.
During the diving course, the trainee must participate, learn and be evaluated on all the techniques of the CMAS diver and he must be able to help a CMAS instructor with daily tasks for the proper functioning of a diving center and a diving boat in the reception of divers, the preparation of diving equipment for the divers in training and the teaching up to the CMAS 1-Star Diver in a swimming pool or in a natural environment.

ATUS was founded on 12 December 2004 and registered as an officially association in Thailand on 20 March 2005.
ATUS is the national diving association of Thailand and internationally recognized by being full voting member of the world underwater federation CMAS.
More than 120 countries worldwide are associated with CMAS as they, same as ATUS, follow the high and safe diving standards and the same structure of CMAS organization.
